The Elder Scrolls VI has been announced

Bethesda has confirmed that The Elder Scrolls VI, the sequel to 2011's The Elder Scroll's V: Skyrim, is in pre-production. This announcement means two things, first, that Bethesda is finally working on a sequel to Skyrim and second that this sequel is over a year away from release.

All that is known about the game right now is shown in the teaser below, showcasing an expansive landscape and the game's logo. Given the game's pre-production state, which means that Bethesda has nothing to show us aside from a short, low effort, teaser.

Regardless, this announcement will no doubt generate a lot of hype for Bethesda, even if it is for a game that appears to be little more than an idea at this time.

Just watched the video. Looks like a new engine. Those graphics are FAR beyond the current one they use.Quote

I seriously hope this is true. The Elder Scrolls and Fallout were a huge part of my life growing up but the engine is so dated and clunky now it's almost embarrassing. There's no way they can get away with keeping it for another generation.Quote

Its pre-development, so it is probably a CGI scene. Links are now fixed, needed to catch a few Zzzzz'sQuote
