Skype is Down Across the Globe

 

Many Skype users across the globe have found that the app is not functioning properly, preventing users from making calls, or appearing online to other users. This issue has been present since early this morning and affects users across the whole world and not just here in the UK. 

Many say that instant messages can still be sent and that Skype Web still functions as normal for video calls. 

Skype say that they are currently working on fixing the issue, but no ETA has been given for when this fix will be implemented. 

 

Some of you may experience problems with Skype presence and may not see online. We have detected an issue with the status settings of Skype.

Affected users will not be able to change their status, their contacts will all show as offline and they will be unable to start Skype calls to them.

Right now it is unknown whether Skype will return on a few hours or over an even longer timeframe, but right now those that rely on the popular app will need to rely on other forms of communication.
