Shadow of the Tomb Raider now has a free demo version

Square Enix has released free demo versions of Shadow of the Tomb Raider on PS4, Xbox One and PC (via Steam), allowing gamers on all platforms to try out the game before committing to its purchase.

The demo will include the opening sections of the game, which will include the Journey to Cozumel and The Day of the Dead scenes, with the demo offering the ability to retain their progress if they decide to purchase the full game on their same platform.

Sadly, the Steam demo version of the game is not available at the time of writing, though it is expected to become available later today. Our advice is that if you want to purchase the full game, wait for the Steam Winter sale, as Shadow of the Tomb Raider was available with a staggering 50% discount during the Steam Autumn sale, making the game £22.49 in the UK.

Experience the beginning of Lara Croft’s defining adventure with the Shadow of the Tomb Raider Free Trial. Journey to Cozumel, Mexico in the midst of The Day of the Dead celebrations, where Lara and her trusted friend Jonah must race against Trinity to find a hidden tomb.

Immerse yourself in Lara’s newest adventure, and see why critics are calling this a thrilling conclusion to Lara Croft’s origin story. After completing the Shadow of the Tomb Raider trial, those who purchase the game will resume right where they left off, keeping all of their progress and unlocks.

Step into the largest, most vibrant world ever created in a Tomb Raider game, filled with more tombs, puzzles, and side quests than ever before. Stop the Maya Apocalypse and become the Tomb Raider Lara was meant to be.
