Nvidia has confirmed that they will be CD Projekt Red's official hardware partner for Cyberpunk 2077, a game which is easily one of 2020s most highly anticipated gaming releases.

Through this partnership, Nvidia will bring RTX ray tracing to the game, delivering to the game more realistic lighting through the power of Nvidia's RTX ray tracing hardware acceleration features.

Below is a comment from CD Projekt Red's Studio Head, Adam Badowski;

    Ray tracing allows us to realistically portray how light behaves in a crowded urban environment, Thanks to this technology, we can add another layer of depth and verticality to the already impressive megacity the game takes place in.

While Nvidia hasn't stated how ray tracing will be used within Cyberpunk 2077, they have released the 4K screenshots below (click them) which showcase the game at 4K with real-time ray tracing enabled.

Attendees at E3 2019 will be able to see Cyberpunk 2077 in action with RTX ray tracing enabled at Booth 1023. E3, the world’s largest annual gaming expo is hosted at the Los Angeles Convention Centre between June 11th and 13th, 2019.
