Quantic Dream releases free Beyond: Two Souls demo for PC

Quantic Dream has released a free demo version of Beyond: Two Souls on PC, coming less than a month before the full game’s release on July 22nd, bringing with it support for higher resolutions than the game’s console versions as well as support for 60FPS framerates.

Beyond: Two Souls is a psychological thriller that comes from writer/director David Cage, offering players a non-linear narrative that changes based on several decisions within the game, enabling a lot of potential replayability. The game’s protagonist, Jodie Holmes, is portrayed by Ellen Paige, while Willem Dafoe assumes the role of Nathan Dawkins, a researcher who becomes Jodie’s surrogate father figure.

As a former PlayStation exclusive, Quantic Dream’s Beyond: Two Souls features several shortcomings that somewhat hampers the game’s PC version, which as the chose to play the game with a lacked 30FPS or 60FPS framerate cap, rather than offer a fully unlocked framerate. The game visuals may look somewhat dated, thanks to Beyond: Two Souls’ origins as a PlayStation 3 title.
