No Man's Sky is getting a free VR update on PC and PS4

Hello Games has confirmed that No Man's Sky is getting support for VR on both PlayStation 4 and PC, shipping as part of the game's free Beyond update, which will release in summer 2019.

On PlayStation 4 players will be able to play No Man's Sky using the company's PlayStation VR (PSVR) headset while PC gamers will be able to utilise any SteamVR complaint devices, including the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and a wide range of Windows Mixed Reality headsets.

In VR, players will be able to grab the joystick of their spacecraft and fly to unexplored regions of the universe, wave at non-VR players and fist bump your VR using allies. VR players can play with non-VR players, with the game's VR component acting as an extension of the full game, rather than as a limited/separate game mode.

The release of No Man's Sky's VR mode will be simultaneous on both PlayStation and SteamVR, giving players on both platforms access to the game's VR capabilities without a period of exclusivity on either platform.

At this time Hello Games have not released PC system requirements for the VR version of No Man's Sky, though PC players should expect it to be more challenging to run than the base game, especially if they use a high-resolution VR headset.

No Man's Sky's VR update will be free to existing players and is set to release in Summer 2019.

Is this how SC should be? I have a SC fan boy mate and he keeps on about how good its going to be etc. And when I ask him if its like No mans sky he said it is much better.

Now.... is no mans sky a good space exploring game?Quote

Completely different environments when you go into the details. The atmosphere experience are also different. If anything I would compare NMS to Elite dangerous instead of SC.Quote
