Monster Hunter: World Smashes onto PC - Over 240,000 concurrent players on day-1

Monster Hunter: World has quickly become one of PC gaming's most impactful releases, quickly gaining over 240,000 simultaneous players mere hours after launch, making it the 4th most popular game on the platform, behind the likes of DOTA 2, PUBG and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

So far, reviews have been mixed on Steam, with several PC players complaining about low framerates and other issues, especially on low-end gaming systems. Monster Hunter World is a demanding game, which means that most PC gamers may have to make graphical sacrifices to achieve their desired framerate target.

We have taken some time to have a brief glimpse of the game, though we are far from ready to release a full performance review for the title. So far, we can say that the game only supports 16:9 resolutions, letterboxing wider 21:9 displays and that the game makes great use of heavily multi-threaded systems. Expect a detailed report on the game later this week, where we will look at both the game's graphics and how to get the game to run well on a range of hardware configurations.

Right now, we advise that PC gamers take a glimpse at Monster Hunter: World's PC system requirements before running the title. The game is extremely demanding, especially when using the title's highest graphical presets.

Playing it now, Fun game, Performance is shoddy though given the graphics aren't exactly Crysis 3 yet demand A LOT more horses.Quote
