EA’s Star Wars Battlefront II left a lot of people disappointed, primarily due to its use of one of gaming’s most controversial “loot box” based progression systems to date.

Many others were equally disappointed that EA continued to ignore what the strengths of the original Battlefront series, like its Galactic Conquest mode and varied arcade mode, though modders have already fixed that.

I will start off by saying that this mod should not be used to play Star Wars: Battlefront online, this mod is for the game’s offline arcade mode only and using it online will likely result in a ban from EA. Also, remember that this is a mod, so make sure that you follow the instructions outlined in the mod webpage on Nexus Mods.

This fan-made add-on allows PC gamers to play Battlefront II’s Arcade mode in a way that is more akin to the Original Battlefront series from Pandemic Studios, allowing matches with up to team sizes of up to 32 for huge 32 vs 32 team battles. The mod also allows AI-controlled characters to fire at increased distances, move faster across the map, and tweaks the game’s AI to provide a different gameplay experience.

Player and AI spawn/respawn times have been edited in this mod to help prevent potential crashes, though several modifiers in Battlefront II’s Arcade mode are still known to be buggy.

What this mode offers is a glimpse of what Battlefront II could have been, providing an experience that is more akin to the original game series than what currently abuses the Battlefront name. Modding is still very new to Star Wars: Battlefront II, so we advise that players remain cautious, as EA could take a stance against modding if it can be used to unbalance the game’s online modes.
