Minecraft Classic is now playable on your browser - Craft like its 2009!

Minecraft's 10th birthday is on the horizon and to celebrate the game's original 2009 version has been made available for free on your internet browser, enabling PC users to craft like its 2009.

This incarnation of Minecraft came long before Villagers had a purpose and Pandas littered the landscape. Minecraft Classic only includes 32 block types, no animals, an early UI and all of the bugs that Minecraft released with. It's fun to have another look at the early beginnings of Minecraft, but it is undeniable that the game's current incarnation is a lot more fun to play.

A lot has changed in Minecraft over the years, from the addition of NPCs, Multiplayer, Crafting, Animals, new materials and too many features to mention within a short news post.

Playing Minecraft Classic is easy, just follow this link, it's as simple as that. Now you can Mine and build to your heart's content.

Minecraft's 10th Birthday is on May 17th, with Microsoft and Mojang planning to host an anniversary celebration on that date. Controversially, both parties have decided to exclude the game's original creator, Notch, from the festivities, due to the "comments and opinions" that he has expressed online.
