Microsoft hints at future Game of Thrones announcement

The final season of Game of Thrones may be coming to a close, but it looks like Microsoft has plans to bring a little more Ice and Fire into your life, teasing what could be a new Game of Thrones game for Xbox One.

At this time nothing is known about the future title, assuming it is a soon-to-be-released game, as at this point all we know is that the teaser showcases fire and a Targarian sigil. Beyond that, all we know is that we will have to wait.

If this isn’t a teaser for a new game, it is possible that Microsoft plans to deliver backwards compatibility for Game of Thrones, the 2012 RPG from Atlus, which released on Xbox 360, Windows and PlayStation 3. Perhaps Xbox plans to tap in on Game of Thrones’ hype with a 4K-ready Xbox One enhanced version of the RPG. That being said, this game wasn’t that well received at launch, making a new game release seem more likely.

At this time Microsoft’s tease could mean almost anything, from a new limited edition Xbox Console, backwards compatibility for the series 2012 RPG to a brand new game reveal. I guess now, our wait begins.
