Metro: Exodus will release earlier than expected

4A Games has announced that Metro Exodus will release a full week earlier than expected, bringing the game to PC and console platforms on the same day as Microsoft's Crackdown 3 and Ubisoft's Far Cry: New Dawn.

On PC, Metro: Exodus is set to be the first game to make use of Nvidia's RTX technology for Raytraced Global Illumination, creating in-game lighting that is more realistic than other game releases, an effect which will have a huge impact on the atmospheric Metro franchise.

Metro Exodus was initially set to release on February 22nd, with the game's new February 15th release date moving it away from EA's Anthem while forcing the game to compete with Microsoft's Crackdown and Ubisoft's Far Cry: New Dawn. February is going to be a busy month for gamers.

Alongside this new release date, 4A Games has released the "Title Sequence" of Metro Exodus, a chilling take on the series' post-apocalyptic landscape.

On PC Metro Exodus will release with support for DirectX 12, Nvidia Hairworks and DXR/RTX-based Raytraced Ambient Occlusion. The console versions of the game will also include graphical enhancements for upgraded hardware platforms like the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro.

I'd rather get it on PS4 because you get AC 5 for free with a pre order...

But yeah Feb will be a very busy monthQuote

If you have a Xbox One you can get the AC6 for free with pre order

But I don't disagree it'll look chuffing amazing on PC. Makes it really difficult for me

Get it on PC for the graphics... Or let my nostalgia kick in and make me get it on PS4 for AC5 and then deal with AC7's worse graphics. Decisions decisionsQuote
