Metal Gear Solid 5 & Ground Zeroes announced for PC

Hideo Kojima, Vice President of Konami, has officially announced that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes will both come to us PC users via Valve's Steam program. The announcement was made at the Metal Gear Solid livestream at Gamescom last night.

Metal Gear Solid enjoyed a long and successful life, mostly as a Playstation exclusive, but now the series is finally branching out to other platforms. There has been no release date for the PC versions announced just yet but we will probably see the four hour long Ground Zeroes release before MGS5. PC gamers will hopefully be getting a cool in-game item to boot, a Steam branded box for Snake to sneak around in.

Have a look at the Steam announcement Trailer below.

Now we just have to hope that Konami delivers a "solid" PC port. So far, the game’s PS4 version has been hyped up to be the best looking, however this was before this announcement, the dev team behind the port would be shooting themselves in the foot if the extra power of the PC platform isn't used to deliver something more, besides higher framerate and resolution options.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will release during the first quarter of 2015 for the Xbox One and Playstation 4, as well as the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Ground Zeros is already out so it’s possible that we will see that hit Steam fairly soon while for MGS5 it will likely take much longer.
