Kingdom Hearts 3 may come to PC after PS4 and Xbox One

In a recent interview with Famitsu, Kingdom Hearts III’s Director Tetsuya Nomura stated that Square Enix was considering bringing the game to other platforms after its release on PS4 and Xbox One.

Nomura said that the game is currently being developed for the PS4 and Xbox One, with the game’s basis in Unreal Engine 4 making the game easier to deliver to PC or Nintendo Switch than other Square Enix titles that use proprietary game engines.

Previously IGN misreported that the game was coming to Nintendo Switch, though Nomura has clarified that “other platforms” does not just mean Nintendo’s latest console, though the prospect of additional versions of the game is by no means a guarantee.

They misinterpreted the word ‘considering’ as to “it is possible to release” and it spread out. “Other hardware” is not limited to the Nintendo switch, and we will consider all of them after the release of the  PS4 and Xbox One versions.

This means that Kingdom Hearts III has the potential to be released on PC, but that is not a given. Beyond that, any potential PC version will likely release years after the console version, which itself is set to release in 2018.
