Just Cause 4 ad leaks before E3 2018

Yesterday, some steam users were presented with a surprise ad, one which informed users that Just Cause 4 is now available for Pre-order on the platform, accidentally confirming that the game was in development.

So far, Avalanche Studios has not confirmed that Just Cause 4 is in development, though previous leaks have suggested that the game will be showcased at E3 2018. Those who clicked on this advertisement were delivered to the Steam homepage, indicating that Just Cause 4’s main Steam listing has not gone live yet.

While this advert has now been pulled from Steam, its listing confirms that Just Cause 4 is in development, as Valve is not in the habit of making ads for non-existent titles, though it also proves that Avalanche Studios are working on three open-world projects at the same time.

Today we already know that Avalanche Studios are working on Rage 2, which will be published by Bethesda, and Generation Zero, a title which will be self-published by Avalanche. Right now it seems likely that Square Enix will publish Just Cause 4, given their long-time association with the series.

At E3 2018 we can expect to see Just Cause 4 at the Square Enix conference and Rage 2 at Bethesda’s press conference.  The dates and times for every major E3 press conference are available in our E3 Conference timetable here.
