Is your PC ready for Minecraft Legends?

Here’s what you need to run Minecraft Legend on PC

Yesterday, Microsoft gave gamers a deep dive into Minecraft Legends, the upcoming action-strategy game from Mojang, at their Xbox/Bethesda Developer_Direct event. At this event, Microsoft revealed a April 18th release date for Minecraft Legends, and the game’s Steam page was updated with a full list of PC system requirements for the game. 

Unlike most games that were shown at Microsoft’s Developer_Direct event yesterday, Minecraft Legends is a cross-generation game that will be available on PC. Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. This means that Minecraft Legends has to target some exceptionally low-end hardware, which means that this game’s system requirements are on the low side. 

Strangely, Mojang has listed Minecraft Legends with identical minimum and recommended system requirements, simply stating that “performance increases with higher-end systems”. The game calls for an i5 processor and a graphics card that is equivalent to or better than a Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 or an AMD Radeon HD 7870, both of which should be considered low-end GPUs by today’s standards.   

With requirements like this, Minecraft Legends is a game that is designed to run on pretty much all gaming PCs. This game’s recommended GPU launched over ten years ago, that’s the level of hardware that this game is targeting. Given Minecraft’s target audience, it makes sense for this game’s hardware requirements to be as simple as possible.
