Intel's Comet Lake-S processors are due to be announced next month
Rumour has it that Intel plans to officially announced its Comet Lake-S series of desktop processors next month, with Elchapuzas Informatico claiming that the company's planned reveal date is April 30th.
Comet Lake-S is Intel's series of 10th Generation desktop processors, which are due to deliver customers higher maximum core/thread counts and higher clock speeds than ever before. With this change will come Intel's new LGA 1200 socket and increased power requirements, as Intel's higher clock speeds and core counts will come with higher power draws, given Intel's continued use of its Skylake-based core architecture and 14nm silicon manufacturing capabilities.
While Intel's Comet Lake-S reveal is rumoured to take place on April 30th, the product;'s release will not occur until the second week of May. With Comet Lake will come a new series of LGA 1200 motherboards, which should offer users support for new features like WiFi 6, 2.5Gb Ethernet and Thunderbolt 4.
Below are the already leaked specifications of Intel's Comet Lake-S CPU lineup.
