Last Night, BAFTA hosted the British Academy Gaming Awards, the UK's annual ceremony which celebrates achievements in video games, acting as a counterpart to their TV and Film awards to cover the growing games industry. 

During this event Ninja Theory quickly became the night's big winner, claiming five categories which include Artistic Achievement, Audio Achievement, British Game, Game Beyond Entertainment and Best Performer. In total Ninja Theory won almost a third of the ceremony's 16 game-specific awards. 

At the event, Tim Schafer of Double Fine Entertainment also won one of BAFTA's highest awards, a Fellowship, a "lifetime achievement" award. Previously this same award has been given to John Carmack, David Braben, Peter Molyneux, Gabe Newell and Rockstar Games (as an entity).

Game Innovation – The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Mobile Game – Golf Clash - Paul Gouge, Alex Rigby, Gareth Jones
Multiplayer – Divinity: Original Sin 2 - Larian Studios
Music – Cuphead - StudioMDHR Entertainment Inc.
Narrative – Night in the Woods - Scott Benson, Alec Holowka, Bethany Hockenberry – InfiniteFall
Original Property – Horizon Zero Dawn – Guerrilla

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice win 5 Gaming BAFTAs  

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice released on Xbox One and Xbox One X earlier this week, making this the ideal time for the game to receive such high praise from the gaming industry, showcasing what can be achieved when developers take on a challenging subject matter without the restriction and oversight that a publisher provides.
