Halo Wars 2 multiplayer gameplay and development

Creative Assembly has released a new multiplayer dev diary, detailing some interesting game modes and showcasing some interesting new gameplay footage.

Halo Wars 2 will launch in February 2016 on Xbox One and PC, with the game coming as a Windows Play Anywhere program on the Xbox/Windows 10 store.

In Halo Wars 2 there will be a combination of traditional RTS game modes, with the addition of a new fast paced Blitz mode, which does away with base building and allows players to pre-select units and leader abilities before a match and play them as a pseudo-RTS card game hybrid.

Halo Wars will also contain more traditional game modes with base building and resource gathering, allowing the game to cater to hardcore RTS fans who prefer long games and players who prefer a faster, more intense gameplay experience.

Halo Wars 2 will release on the Windows 10 Store in February 2017 on both Windows 10 and Xbox One.

So no chance of a Steam launch?
I'm not surprised its a WPA game, but really Windows Store is just so bad, really wish it would just be more of a client like LoL/WoT/etc but just a download link through the Windows Store. Just so we don't have to deal with that crap.

Really cool idea for Blitz. Seems like it would be really hard tbhQuote
