GRID 2019 has been delayed

Codemasters has announced that GRID (2019) has been delayed, moving the game's release date from September 13th to October 11th on PC (via Steam), Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Despite this delay, GRID will remain as a launch title for Google's Stadia game streaming platform. Purchasers of the game's premium  "Ultimate Edition" will gain access to the game three days early on October 8th and gain access to the game's first three seasons of additional content after launch.

GRID (2019) is a reboot of the racing series which shares its name, offering a level of control that's designed to satisfy both arcade and simulation racing fans, aiming for a high level of responsiveness and a learning curve which rewards players as their skill level advances. A realistic damage system will see vehicle performance and handling degrade if things become too violent, and repeated pain trading with specific drivers will see them emerge as a nemesis during races.

Fans of the series will be glad to know that that a wide range of racing disciplines and vehicle types will remain within the game, with Circuit, Street Racing, Ovals, Hot Laps, Point-to-Point and World Time Attack race types being available. GT, Touring, Stock, Muscle, Super-Modified and more car types will be available within the game.

Codemasters has confirmed that Fernando Alonso will act as a Race Consultant for the game, and will appear within the game. Alonso's Esports driving team "FA Racing" will also appear within GRID 2019, and players will be able to challenge the former World Champion inside his Renault R26 F1 car.

Below is a section of gameplay for GRID 2019. More gameplay is available on the title's Steam page

GRID 2019 is currently available to pre-order on Steam for £44.99, with the game's "Ultimate Edition" granting PC gamers three days of early access gaming and the game's first three seasons of additional content for £64.99.
