Gmail now has an "unsend" function

Gmail now has an "unsend" Function, so you now have the option to stop an email from being sent if you think you will regret it, or find a pesky little typo. Google said this in their blog;

“Undo Send allows people using Gmail to cancel a sent mail if they have second thoughts immediately after sending,”

Users will have to enable this setting themselves, but this toll is not all powerful and can only revoke emails between 5 to 30, a user customizable time, seconds after sending them, so sadly that awkward email from 3 months ago will still remain in existence.

This feature is turned off by default, but users will be able to activate it by following a few simple steps. One thing to note is that the undo send function may not work if you are experience connection issues when you initially send the email.

- Log into your Gmail on your computer

- Click on the cog icon situated in the top right corner of the screen

- Select the Settings option

- Find the option for "Undo Send" and tick the box

- Set the cancellation period from 5, 10, 20 or 30 seconds, whichever you prefer

- Click save changes at the bottom of the screen

Gmails Undo send feature is a handy tool, though it's usefulness is limited. It will certainly save some people from sending some emails which they will regret, but I do think it would be nice to have the cancellation period increased to 60 seconds as 5-30 seconds is not much time.

It's not really an unsend option (just a delay), but it will come in handy!Quote
