Free-To-Play PUBG LITE Beta Released in Thailand

PUBG Corp has officially revealed a PC version of PUBG Lite, a free-to-play version of PUBG that sports lower PC system requirements and a limited version of the PUBG experience.

Right now, the PUBG LITE is only available in Thailand, with the game's current beta version acting as a test case which will allow PUBG Corp to decide whether or not their latest version of PUBG is viable in other regions of the globe.

Right now PUBG Lite only contain the game's Erangel map with the game's TPP (Third Person Perspective) mode. Players will be able to play alone or as part of a squad.

PUBG LITE is a standalone product from the core PUBG game and as such has its own dedicated dev team that will create exclusive content and quality of life features while also adding maps and content familiar to PUBG players. And best of all, the PUBG LITE client is a free product, making it easier than ever to enjoy PUBG’s unmatched gunplay and heart-pounding Battle Royale experience.

The image above showcases PUBG LITE's PC system requirements, which are significantly lower than what is available on the Steam version of PUBG, both in terms of CPU and GPU power. The game's storage requirements have also been condensed to 4GB, a far cry from the 30GB that the paid for version of PUBG requires.

At this time it is unknown if PUBG LITE will ever release outside of Thailand or progress beyond the game's beta version.
