Forza Motorsport 7 will be releasing on PC in 2017

Last night, Microsoft announced Forza Motorsport 7 as a Xbox One/Windows 10 exclusive, targeting a 60FPS framerate and support for HDR. Better still, the game is being designed to work at 4K 60Hz on the Xbox One X, which is great news for PC gamers.

Many Forza fans on PC will remember how difficult it was to get Forza Horizons 3 to run at a steady 60+ FPS on PC, especially in city areas. This was due to two things, a lack of CPU multi-threading on PC and the fact that the game was designed to run at 30FPS on Xbox One. These two factors meant that a lot of PC gamers were unable to access the full performance of their CPUs, preventing them from achieving the 2x Xbox One levels of CPU performance that is required to run the game at a constant 60FPS.

With Forza Motorsport 7 being designed to run at 60FPS on both Xbox One and Xbox One X, the PC requirements for these framerates/resolution targets will no doubt be lower than what we have seen in Forza Horizons 3, which is great news for framerate junkies on PC.

Xbox One and Windows 10 exclusive. Experience the danger and beauty of competitive racing at the limit in Forza Motorsport 7. Enjoy gorgeous graphics at 60fps and true 4K resolution in HDR. Collect over 700 Forzavista cars, including the largest assortment of Ferraris, Porsches, and Lamborghinis ever. Master over 30 famous environments with race conditions that change every time you race.

Forza Motorsport 7 will release on October 3rd on Xbox One and Windows 10, with the Xbox One X update releasing with the Xbox One X on November 7th.

If the Halo games don't come to PC then there is a reason.

For me though I have quite a few friends on the xbox who won't play games on a pc, either because they don't want to pay for one or they just prefer the xbox.

I am planning on if I have a job by then, of getting a Xbox One X when it releases to replace my original Xbox One, for the times I play games with my friends on the Xbox.

However if Microsoft would actually allow cross play in all games or bring full keyboard, mouse and hotas support to the Xbox then I probably wouldn't bother buying games on the pc and would just stick to the Xbox.Quote

Serious q. When was the last, non-Ubisoft, time you had to troubleshoot a game? I honestly can't remember. They just work, and have done since about DX7.Quote

If you already have an Xbox it's worth it.
Most console gamers don't have a PC. So it's worth it.Quote
