Forza Horizon 4's minimum PC system requirements will be lower than Forza Horizon 3
Forza Horizon 3 was the first game in the franchise to make its way to PC, bringing with it a few teething issues for the platform. For starters, it was difficult to get the game running at 60+ FPS on PC, with the game running into CPU-related performance issues in built-up areas of the game. While this was later mitigated with a post-launch multi-threading patch, it contributed to the bad reputation of Microsoft's Windows 10 Store and their UWP game format.
For those who are unaware, Forza Horizon 3's PC system requirements are available below:
OS: Windows 10 64-bit
CPU: Intel i3-4170 @ 3.7GHz
GPU: AMD R7 250X or Nvidia GT 740
While at Gamescom, Kotaku has confirmed that the PC release of Forza Horizon 4 will feature support for ultra-widescreen 21:9 monitors, an adjustable FOV setting, an automated benchmark mode and settings that are "beyond Ultra", which should allow the game's PC version to look better than its Xbox One X counterpart.
Forza Horizon 4's recommended PC system requirements will likely be much higher than its predecessor, with PC Gamer confirming that the game's recommended requirements will be designed with a 60FPS framerate in mind, unlike its predecessor. The PC version will also offer support for HDR, which is a first for Forza on PC.
Forza Horizon 4 is set to release on PC and Xbox One on October 2nd, 2018.
