Epic Games Sues Fortnite Cheater over V-Bucks exploit

Epic Games has taken a Fortnite cheater to court over “stealing” from the developer/publisher by using a cheat to generate free V-Bucks, the game’s premium currency. This lawsuit comes after Epic Games has made settlements with several other Fortnite cheaters, who were previously taken to court by the company for creating, distributing and repeatedly using cheat software.

V-Bucks can be purchased from Epic Games and then be used to buy skins and other in-game items, with Epic’s court filing stating that using free money exploits within the game “stealing” from the company.

Players who search for and promote exploits ruin the game experience for others and undermine the integrity of Fortnite. Players who use exploits to avoid paying for items in Fortnite are stealing from Epic

The man who created this free V-Bucks cheat has been identified as Yash Gosai by Epic Games, a resident of New Zealand. Epic Games alleges that he produced and distributed the cheat while using YouTube to advertise and demonstrate the exploit.

On information and belief, Gosai developed an exploit for Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode that enables players to obtain V-bucks without paying for them. Gosai created and posted a video on YouTube to advertise, promote and demonstrate the exploit,
