EA teases Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order E3 Gameplay Reveal

Tomorrow marks the start of EA’s 2019 Play event, where the company plans to showcase their latest games, updates to existing titles and more.

One of the highlights of the event will undoubtedly be Respawn Entertainment’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, EA’s first singleplayer only Star Wars title, at least since gaining exclusive gaming rights to the franchise.

Unlike the new Battlefront series, Jedi: Fallen Order will utilise Epic Games’ versatile Unreal Engine 4, which has given Respawn Entertainment a lot of freedom when creating their Star Wars title.

Fallen Order will be based after the fall of the Jedi in Star Wars: Episode III, taking place between episodes III and IV of the film series.

Cal, like all surviving Jedi, is hiding from the emerging Galactic Empire; remaining out of sight while working as a salvager on a planet called Bracca alongside BD-1, his droid companion. By keeping his force sensitivity hidden and staying under the Empire’s radar he can remain safe, but given the fact that this is a game, you can guess that things eventually go wrong.

Respawn promises an in-depth combat system within Fallen Order, one which will demand that players learn how to use all of Cal’s abilities to succeed. Purge Trooper have already been confirmed for the game, melee-focused troopers which are trained to hunt down surviving Jedi.

Respawn’s Star Wars Stream will start on Saturday, June 8th at 9:30 AM PT, which translates to 5:30 PM in the UK. The teaser below showcases the game’s protagonist, Cal, with his droid companion as well as a short climbing sequence.
