EA's looking for "Project Atlas" cloud gaming testers

Like many other companies, EA believes that the future of gaming is in the cloud, where games could be enjoyed from anywhere with internet access. Given the sheer possibilities that are offered by cloud gaming, EA has been keen to explore how modern technology can influence its future games and services.

Now, EA is ready to start testing its cloud technology, offering external testers the ability to experience games through the power of cloud streaming. This is only one part of EA's cloud vision, but it is nonetheless an important step.

Through their trail, EA plans to test FIFA 19, Titanfall 2, Need for Speed Rivals and Unravel, each of which will support cross-saves and cross-play on PC/Origin players. This trail will allow EA to gather more input data and learn how to improve their cloud gaming experience.

EA has selected these games because of their differences in gameplay, allowing the company to judge how suitable cloud gaming/streaming is for certain types of games.

When combined with gaming subscriptions, like EA Origin Access, EA believes that game streaming will help bring their games to more customers over a broader number of devices. Through streaming, gaming is possible on phones, notebooks and tablets, not just consoles, and powerful gaming PCs.

To take part in EA's game streaming tests, you can log into your EA account, and then sign up for community playtesting. From here, gamers will be able to apply for upcoming playtests.
