EA releases its first Star Wars Squadrons gameplay trailer

EA has just released its first gameplay trailer for Star Wars Squadrons, showcasing how the gameplay and what the title offers gamers on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

On PC, Star Wars Squadrons will offer players VR support in all game modes, which when combined with full HOTAS supports will make Star Wars: Squadrons the definitive Star Wars starfighter experience.

Star Wars: Squadrons will release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on October 2nd and offer players a singleplayer campaign and several 5 vs 5 multiplayer modes. The game's campaign will be based after Star Wars; Return of the Jedi and will feature playable pilots from both the New Republic and the Empire.

Within Starfighters, players will be able to access five different spacecraft types for both the game's Imperial and Republic factions. The game will feature cross-play at launch on all platform.

Squadron's singleplayer campaign will be played from the perspective of pilots from both the Imperial Navy and New Republic. Missions will cycle between both sides, showcasing both sides of the story. The game's campaign will be based after Star Wars: Return of the Jedi

On Origin, this game has been given a £34.99 price tag, making this release much cheaper than most of EA's AAA library. Given this fact, gamers shouldn't expect this game to be as wide in scope as Star Wars: Battlefront II. This game will also be available on Steam, Origin and the Epic Games Store on PC.

On PC, Star Wars: Squadrons will have separate minimum and recommended system requirements for VR and non-VR systems. VR users will need to have stronger PCs than non-VR players, which makes sense given the high framerate requirements of VR headsets.

For non-VR PCs, AMD's RX 480 and Nvidia's GTX 1060 graphics cards are recommended. These GPUs aren't high-end by today's standards, which means that most PC gamers will be able to enjoy this game with smooth framerates.

I mean looks great visually and the fact it has an actual campaign is nice. I just hope it's a real story-driven campaign and not the past ones we've gotten where its basically 6 missions with an arbitrary goal.

One thing I wish they would let us do is have a Capital/Fleet battle battle. Star Destroyer vs Mon Calamari class ships would be awesomeQuote

I have no interest in cosmetics in any game. Such a waste of money. You will never look unique.Quote
