EA confirms that Mass Effect Andromeda's PC requirements are for 30FPS gameplay

EA has now confirmed that Mass Effect Andromeda's PC requirements are for 30FPS gameplay, with minimum requirements predicting framerates of 30FPS at 720p Low settings.

Moving up to the game's recommended PC system requirements, the developers recommend a GTX 1060 or an RX 480 and 16GB of system memory for a predicted framerate of 30FPS at 1080p high settings.

This will mean that PC gamers will have a difficult time achieving solid 60FPS framerates, calling into question why Bioware, EA and Nvidia are pushing so hard to deliver 4K 60FPS gameplay almost exclusively before launch when such framerates will be almost impossible outside of a high-end SLI and Crossfire setups on PC. Surely 30FPS gameplay would be more representative of the final product? Especially for console gamers who cannot adjust the game's graphical settings.

It is undeniable that Mass Effect Andromeda will be a visually appealing game on all platform, which justifies these system requirements. That being said it does showcase how EA has chosen to deliver higher fidelity visuals at the expense of high in-game framerates and resolutions on PC and consoles.

Hahaha Really EA you dropped a ball on that one. Looks like another demanding title or poor console port. The gtx 1080 ti is looking that little bit more appealingQuote

I bet Cutscenes will be a massive clusterf**k like they were with the EA Dragon Age: Inquisition and locked to 30fps making painful watching experience.

That made it a massive disappointment for me. It was one feature I enjoyed in the previous games, listening to the story and cutscenes.Quote

I am sick of consoles really. They just hold down PC game industry. How many games have poor optimization due to pathetic console ports. Why don't they develop games for PC then give them low details on consoles, and let us have full potential of our overpriced rigs utilized? I mean one beefy graphic card is 3x the price of the console, it has infinity of power compared to a console, not counting the rest of components, and yet you see little better effects, and details. Do consoles earn them that much more money? Who is lobbying for consoles? Mouse and keyboard are the way to play, always were, and always will be. Joypads are for sports, and some adventures. They are useless in MassEffect, and not to mention shooters. Wtf is wrong with this world?Quote
