Bethesda will be releasing Dishonored 2 tomorrow, but today some members of the press have been able to play the game early, giving us the opportunity to have a look at the game's graphical options menu.

Today a large number of reports from publications like PCGAMER and video gaming YouTubers like Totalbiscuit have reported that the game does have performance issues on mid-range hardware, though we have reports that a day-1 patch is planned.

We recommend that anyone planning to purchase Dishonored 2 to download the latest GPU drivers from their manufacturer and to hold off on your purchase if you have an older system. This is not a great showing for Bethesda's new review policy and a sign that their quality control for the PC version may not be as high as some would expect.

Above you can see the basic graphical options menu for Dishonored 2, which has the ability to be played in Windowed, fullscreen windowed and fullscreen modes, with a field of view slider that can be adjusted between 65 and 110 degrees. V-Sync can be turned on and off in this game and Nvidia HBAO+ will be present in this game.

Dishonored 2 will also contain an Adaptive Resolution option, which allows the game to be internally rendered at a lower resolution to achieve greater performance. The game will also have some basic graphical presets like low, medium, high and very high.

When it comes to anti-aliasing Dishonored 2 has FXAA Low and FXAA high options as well as a TXAA option. The game will also have a wide range of options for Texture details, model detail, view distance and other graphical options.

Other options like Bloom, Depth of Field, Volumetric lighting, Rat Shadows and Bloodfly Shadows will have basic on/off options, with these options likely having a huge performance impact.

Beyond graphical settings the game will also have fully rebindable controls and a range of controller presets, which should please a lot of gamers.

I'm so getting this, and have to restrain myself not to buy upon release tomorrow, because I want inevitable bugs to be fixed first. Thanks for the post!Quote
