Diablo 2: Resurrected is coming to PC and Consoles this year

It’s official, Diablo 2: Resurrected releasing this year on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series systems, offering players the same core gameplay as the original with a new 3D engine and visuals that can support resolutions as high as 4K.

Gamers will be able to return Diablo II’s original aesthetic at the touch of a button, allowing gamers to see how much the game has improved since its original release. The game will also feature 7.1 surround sound, re-recorded sounds and remastered cutscenes.

Diablo 2: Resurrected will look and feel like Diablo 2, offering all of Diablo II’s content and the game’s Lords of Destruction expansion. The game will also feature cross-platform progression, allowing gamers to play Diablo II across several platforms. The game will also feature several ease-of-use features like an expanded personal stash and a shared stash tab to make item organisation easier. To play Diablo II: Resurrected across several platforms, gamers will need to own the game on each platform, requiring multiple purchases.

Unlike Warcraft III Reforged, Diablo II Resurrected is separate from Classic Diablo II, which means that Diablo II: Resurrected will not impact its predecessor. Diablo II’s original release will be preserved in its entirety, avoiding some of Blizzard’s largest missteps from Warcraft III Reforged.

Diablo II: Resurrected will feature a new 3D engine with physically-based rendering and new animations. This will allow Diablo II: Resurrection to look good at high resolutions and refresh rates. The game will feature new models, effects, animations, and feature a dynamic lighting system, making Diablo II look better than ever while maintaining its classic gameplay.

On PC, Diablo II: Resurrected will cost £34.99 on Battle.net and release sometime before December 2021.
