Code Vein has been delayed until 2019

Bandai Namco has confirmed that Code Vein is no longer set to launch this September, delaying the game's release until sometime in 2019 on PC, Xbox One and PS4.

Code Vein is an Action-RPG that offers gameplay that is similar to Dark Souls, offering similar online co-op play mechanics and combat that is faster than Dark Souls but slower than From Software's Bloodborne.

Code Vein was initially set to release on September 27th on consoles and on September 28th on PC, with this delay pushing back the title's release for at least three months. Below is a comment from Bandai Namco America's Eric Hartness, Vice President of Marketing.

Code Vein has received an enormous amount of positive feedback from eager fans who have received hands-on time with in-development versions of the game over the past nine months,

Armed with knowledge of how well the game has already been received, we made the decision to postpone the release of Code Vein to further refine its gameplay in an effort to exceed the expectations fans already have of the title. It was a difficult decision to make, but we feel it is the correct one.

In Code Vein, humanity is on the brink of extinction thanks to a mysterious destructive force. At the center of the disaster lies a hidden human society called Vein. Here all of the humans have made a deal to become revenants, exchanging their memories for the powers needed to survive and gaining a vampiric thirst for blood.

This delay will move Code Vein's release date away from AAA games like Spiderman on PS4 and Shadow of the Tomb Raider on PC, Xbox One and PS4, hopefully allowing Bandai Namco to release a higher quality product at a time where competition is minimal.
