Last week, the Epic Games Store had its largest giveaway to date, offering PC gamers free copies of Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto V. Now, Epic Games has another free game for us, offering PC gamers Firaxis' Civilization VI, another great addition to any PC gamer's collection.

Civilization VI has been available for over three years, and today marks the release of the game's New Frontier Pass, a premium content pack which promises games free and premium content on a bi-monthly basis. The game is considered amongst the best that the series has to offer, and can easily become a game which owners could spend hundreds of hours playing.

As part of Epic's new rules, PC gamers must enable two-factor authentication to redeem their free copy of Civilization VI. Thankfully, Epic Games is offering gamers a variety of 2FA methods, so users can choose which method best suits them.

This free game offer will be available until May 28th at 4 PM BST, after which a mystery game will become free on the platform. Leaked information that we received has indicated that this free game is Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, which includes both Borderlands II and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel.

Right now, PC gamers can redeem a free copy of Civilization VI on the Epic Games Store

I must have grabbed 90% of them, but honestly, I haven't downloaded or played any of them.

..and I suspect I'm not alone in doing so.

In fact, the ONLY game I've ever downloaded and played from the Epic game store is the one game I've actually purchased from them, Metro Exodus, and even that was a bargain £13 (with a £10 voucher) in the Christmas sales.

I now have Civilisation VI in my collection but I have absolutely no interest whatsoever in this genre of game.

But I guess its nice to know that it's sitting in my virtual Internet games library Quote

Today I could finally grab it after two days of seeing "Your account is unable to download any more free games at this time"Quote
