Call of Duty: Warzone has been revealed as a free-to-play game

Infinity Ward has announced that Call of Duty: Warzone is ready to release tomorrow. That's right, Call of Duty's new Battle Royale experience will be available to everyone tomorrow, and better yet, the game will be available for free.

Call of Duty: Warzone will be available on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, the same platforms where Call of Duty: Modern Warfare are currently available. Owners of Modern Warfare will be able to download Warzone for free on March 10th at 8 AM PDT (3 PM GMT) and new players will be able to download the game later in the day at 12 PM PDT (7 PM GMT).

Gamers will Modern Warfare installs will be able to download Warzone with download sizes of 15-22GB, while new players will be forced to download the game with download sizes that range between 80GB and 100GB. At this time, it is unknown if the PC version of Warzone will feature Nvidia RTX/raytracing support.

Warzone will support up to 150 players in two separate game modes, Battle Royale, which works in a similar way to competing shooters like Fortnite and Apex Legends, and Plunder, a game mode where Squads are dropped in and must complete objectives and take out opposing squads. Plunder also features respawns, which incentivises riskier gameplay than traditional Battle Royale titles.
