Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will reportedly lack a single-player campaign

Call of Duty: Balck Ops 4 is set to be revealed on May 17th, with reports from Polygon and Charlie Intel stating that Treyarch has decided to drop the game's single-player component, doubling down on the title's multiplayer modes.

Reports from Charlie Intel and Kotaku have also stated that Black Ops 4 will feature a Battle Royale mode, with Raven Software being recruited to develop this new game mode to fill the "content gap" that was left after the game's single-player mode was dropped.

Call of Duty's single player campaigns have been very hit and miss in recent years, with Call of Duty: WWII featuring a more traditional campaign mode which pleased many longtime fans of the series. Even so, the game's focus has been primarily on the game's multiplayer for quite some time, with many gamers ignoring the title's single-player component.

Activision has stated that they are "keenly aware" of the success of Battle Royale games, with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 acting as an ideal opportunity to release an entry into the new genre.

Activision has not commented on any of these rumours, though they have re-reiterated their plans to reveal Black Ops 4 on May 17th, which means that all will be unveiled in one month's time.

lmfao first they remove co op campaign (making it far more tolerable) and now this.

The campaigns have sucked I will agree to that, but in co op BLOPS III was almost good. Even though the story made no sense and it was stupid the mindless shooting was great fun with a buddy.

*sigh* oh well, at least FC5 is damn good in co op and there's that prison game we are going to play next.Quote

Peace
Said it on other forums as well: If they decrease the price of MP only to ~30€, then it's fine for me. They should make the campaign an optional DLC or just offer both parts as seperate games for a REASONABLE price.

Do you know everything about the campaign and its "twist" with the fast sentences during each opening sequence? I think it's kinda well made and they followed a theme of "Human vs. Human" in BO1 "Human vs. Machine" in BO2 and "Machine vs. Machine" in BO3. I hadn't thought about that until I heard about it. Still, the Zombie Campaign in BO3 that was unlocked after completing the original was almost better
