id Software’s DOOM reboot was easily one of the gaming highlights of 2016, offering spectacular visuals, solid framerates on all platforms and cutting edge use of the Vulkan API on PC. 

Bethesda has confirmed that DOOM Eternal is in development, a direct sequel to DOOM 2016 which will offer more demon types, weapons abilities and more. Sadly, Bethesda was not able to showcase any gameplay at their E3 showcase, though they have confirmed that gameplay will be shown at QuakeCon on August 10th. DOOM Eternal’s gameplay reveal will be live streamed.   

At this time DOOM Eternal has no firm release date and is expected to utilise id Software’s latest iteration of the developer’s id tech 6 engine.
