Apex Legends Surpasses 25 million players in a week

Apex Legends has been available for one week, with the game’s success allowing EA’s stock value to bounce back after their disappointing Q3 financial report.

So far, Respawn’s Apex Legends has attracted over 25 million players across all platforms, reaching 2 million concurrent players over the weekend. For context, PUBG was able to achieve 3.2 million concurrent players at the height of its popularity, making Apex Legend’s 2 million value astounding given how fresh/new the title is in the minds of gamers.

Later this week, Respawn plans to celebrate Valentine’s day with an array of limited-time loot content, though the developer has bigger plans for the game in March, where the title#s “Season One” will begin. Within this timeframe, the game’s “Battle Pass” system will also be implemented, as well as new “Legends, weapons, loot, and more”.

In time, Apex Legends may continue to grow and perhaps even surpass Fortnite in terms of popularity, securing its position as the king of the Battle Royale genre.
