Anno 1800 has been officially announced

Ubisoft has officially revealed Anno 1800, a new game in their City-building series that places the famous strategy franchise into the Industrial Era.

This game will feature sandbox modes as well as online competitive matches, where players will compete for resources and to create the greatest city/civilisation. Sadly not much information is known about the game at this time, though it is expected to release in Q4 2018.

Welcome to the 19th Century, the dawn of the industrial age! Diplomacy, trade or warfare, choose your strategy for victory.

Below we have included the game's announcement trailer and two early screenshots.

I *tried* to get into the original, since it looks fun, but could never wrap my brain around it. The included tutorial missions kinda sucked, and it just never grabbed me.Quote
