10 Minutes of New Metro Exodus Gameplay Released

When thinking of the Metro series, it is easy to think of underground settlements, long tunnels, caverns and the destroyed city of Moscow that sits on top of it all. What most people don’t think of is desert, but that changes with Metro Exodus.

In Metro Exodus Artyom leaves Moscow, embarking on a continent-spanning train journey that will take the series to places where the series has never ventured to before. The game is currently set to span around a year within the Metro timeline, with the game’s summer taking place, at least partially, within a desert region, a first for the franchise.

IGN has released 10 minutes of new gameplay for Metro Exodus, showcasing a landscape that is not too dissimilar to the Mad Max movie franchise. Scattered around this landscape are irradiated humans, who have been left as little more than beasts after the Metro world’s nuclear war. In the video Artyom explores the landscape and eventually finds keys for a vehicle, confirming that driving will be possible within the game.

4A Games plans to release Metro Exodus on February 15th, complete with raytraced ambient occlusion on Nvidia’s new RTX series graphics cards. At this time it is unknown whether or not DLSS will be featured within the game.
