The Witcher is getting its own series on Netflix
Over the past number of years, Andrzej Sapkowski's The Witcher series has done nothing but grow in popularity, with the original book series getting translated into over 20 different languages and adapting well into CD Projekt Red's popular game series of the same name. Given the fame of this fantasy franchise, it is unsurprising that people want to bring the series to life on the
Given the fame of this fantasy franchise, it is unsurprising that people want to bring the series to life to life in the cinema or on television. Netflix has now answered the call and has announced their new Witcher Saga TV series, promising to stay true to the source material and utilise Sapkowski as a creative consultant for the series.
Below is what the series' original creator, Andrzej Sapkowski, had to say about this new development;
I’m thrilled that Netflix will be doing an adaptation of my stories, staying true to the source material and the themes that I have spent over thirty years writing,
I’m excited about our efforts together, as well as the team assembled to shepherd these characters to life.
Please note that this new series has nothing to do with The Witcher game series, with CD Projekt Red having no involvement in the project. This means that there will no doubt be creative differences between the games and the TV series, given the fact that the games already diverge somewhat from the series source material.

Yeah CDPR is involved because they own all the rights to it. But it's probably only for certain things and it would mostly be the writers I'd say.

I know back in the day they made a movie on it in Poland. Was terrible, like really bad, but I don't know about any current TV shows on itQuote
