The EU now plans to completely abolish mobile roaming charges
The EU now plans to completely abolish mobile roaming charges, scrapping their plans to impose a 90-day limit. This means that the EU are now returning to their original plans where roaming charges will be completely scrapped for EU travellers, without any limitations.
The aim of his ban is to prevent consumers in the EU from receiving large, unexpected bills for using mobile data while on holiday within Europe. Critics of this ban are suggesting that lost revenue will make prices rise for normal, non-traveling consumers.
The plans to limit free-roaming had suggested that charges will be allowed for users who use their phone abroad for more than 90 days a year or after 30 days in a row of use, though it was argued that this would unfairly discriminate against those who live in border regions within the EU.
At this time the EU's plans to abolish roaming charges are currently set to be enforced in June 2017.

I heard they are now going to limit it by data consumption instead :S
Great to hear about the roaming charges though, always makes me weary when I am abroad, even though I know I have it all turned off. |
This may be a very political/topical question but with the recent Brexit thing for the UK, will this free roaming still apply do you think? Or did i just answer my own question?
