Samsung has announced their world's first 10nm 8GB LPDDR4 package

Samsung has announced their world's first 10nm 8GB LPDDR4 package, which can run at up to 4266MHz and has similar power consumption as their existing 4GB 20nm DDR4 memory packages.

This new memory innovation will allow more mobile devices and notebooks to contain 8GB or larger amounts of memory, as well as offer speed improvements that will enable more devices to play 4K content with fewer memory chips. These new 8GB LPDDR4 packages come in at 15mm x 15mm x 1.0mm, satisfying the space requirements for most mobile devices.

Samsung has announced their world's first 10nm 8GB LPDDR4 package

Last year Samsung introduced their first 20nm 12Gb/6GB LPDDR4 DRAM packages, already moving to 16Gb/8GB LPDDR4 DRAM packages in just 14 months.  This fast rate of development will accelerate the launch of next generation mobile devices and deliver even more advanced memory speeds and capacities for the high-end enterprise markets.

Looking forward to seeing some of these getting integrated into some phones. Somehow I manage to run out of ram even with the crazy amounts already on them!Quote
