G.Skill delivers up to 256GB memory quad-channel DDR4 memory kits for Threadripper and Core-X CPUs
Both of these new processor platforms operate using quad-channel DDR4 memory modules, with G.Skill recommending kits with speeds of up to 3600MHz on AMD systems and 4,000MHz on Intel systems. On both AMD's TRX40 platform and Intel's X299 socket, G.Skill is offering memory kits that deliver capacities of up to 256GB, delivering more than what most last-generation CPUs and motherboards can support, at least outside of the server market.
High-capacity kits with speeds of up to 3600MHz with CL 16-19-19-39 timings and 4000MHz with CL 18-22-22-42 timings are available with 32GB DIMMs, though tighter timings are available with lower capacity memory modules.
With these modules, G.Skill is ready for virtual machine creation, or any manner of memory-intensive workload that you are ready to throw at it. G.Skill expects worldwide retail availability of their memory kits in Q4 2019, complete with full XMP 2.0 profiles for easy use.
Whether you want the highest clock speeds and the highest capacities available or lower capacities and tighter timings, G.Skill will have a memory kit for you. That said, expect G.Skill's highest-end modules to come with a steep price tag, especially for their high-capacity 32GB modules.
With Ryzen 3rd Generation processors, 3600MHz memory speeds sit at a sweet-spot in terms of memory throughput and AMD's Infinity Fabric speeds, delivering Threadripper users a great balance between memory bandwidth and latency.
