SteamOS adds Xbox One Elite Controller support and Bluetooth support

A new update for SteamOS has added support for the Xbox One's Elite controller and Bluetooth functionality, allowing the OS to support a variety of gaming headsets and controllers, including the PS4's Dualshock 4 controller.

This new update allows gamers to have a much wider variety of control option than just traditional Xbox 360 controllers for PC and Valve's own Steam Controller, though right now Xbox One controllers can only be used in a wired configuration.

While SteamOS continues to evolve with constant updates it still lags behind windows, often offering inferior game performance on the same hardware and still lacking dedicated applications for YouTube, Netflix, Plex and a lot of other services that consoles provide.

SteamOS has a lot of growth to make before it becomes an OS which can be recommended over Windows, though at this point it is hard to know if that time will ever come.
