Corsair releases their K70 RGB MK.2 LOW PROFILE keyboard

While most PC enthusiasts love mechanical keyboards, many of us dislike the chunky form factors that they often ship with, making them difficult to transport or otherwise uncomfortable to use. The Cherry MX key form factor has been with us for quite some time, but the introduction of Cherry MX Low Profile switches has given keyboard makers an opportunity to explore new form factors or make their existing designs more compact.

The key advantage of Cherry's MX Low Profile Switches is their lower key height of 11.9mm, a significant change when compared to the 18.5mm height of standard cherry MX switches. Corsair has used these tweaked key to create their new K70 MK.2 line of low profile keyboards, which utilise Cherry's new Low Profile keys to offer a maximum keyboard height of 29mm, which is an 11mm reduction over the 40mm height of their standard models.

On top of the space savings that this design offers, Cherry's new low profile keys offer users a lower the full keypress distance of the keyboard, a useful feature for those who wish to avoid keyboard fatigue during extended typing or gaming sessions.

Corsair plans to release their K70 RGB MK.2 Low Profile keyboards with two variants, one which is optimised for general use while the other is optimised for gamers, with Corsair acting as an exclusive provider of Cherry's new MX Low Profile Speed key switches. These new switches offer a low actuation distance of 1mm, allowing the keyboard to respond faster to inputs. K70 MK.2 RGB Low Profile Rapidfire keyboards will be available with these new speed-oriented key switches, while standard K70 MK.2 keyboards will feature standard Cherry MX Low Profile key switches.

Corsair's K70 RGB MK.2 Low Profile keyboards are available starting today from Corsair's online web store and from partnered retailers. Corsair's UK web store currently prices their K70 RGB MK.2 Low Profile Rapidfire keyboard with a price tag of £159.99/$169.99.

My wishlist for a keyboard, A TKL version of the K95 Platinum, Same light strip across the top of the keyboard, Same volume wheel and mute button, USB passthrough, Cherry MX Blue RGB keys with already pre-installed PBT double shot keycaps BUT with a neutral non "gamery" font and detachable wrist wrest with a neutral pattern, No diagonal lines, Just nice and clean.

I know they'll never bring it out but if they did they would get my money.Quote

They already got your money Dice

I just wish they revise there wrist rest. Currently they absolutely suck. Razer's is faaaaaaaar better. Hard plastic isn't a wrist rest Corsair, especially when it's so much lower than the keyboard and the keys. I'm sure this low profile setup helps but still, Razer of all people is doing it better.Quote
