Unreal Engine 4 developer creates a VR version of C&C: Red Alert 2
An Unreal Engine 4 developer has created a VR version of Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2, showcasing what future RTS games could play like in VR.
Below is some gameplay for this HTC Vive version of Red Alert 2, which is still in development but already looks impressive. This VR version of the game makes use of room scale movement and motion controls, though I doubt that the HTC Vive's motion controllers would be suitable to in-depth micro management.
Command and Conquer is a registered trademark of Electronic Arts (EA), so it is unlikely that this mod will result in a 3D Remake of Red Alert 2, though this concept could result in a similar VR oriented RTS game in the future.
Right now VR is still new to the gaming market, with relatively few genre's represented in the current VR games lineup. In the future, new game genres and many existing genres will be created or ported over to VR headsets, giving VR users a huge amount of new and unique gameplay options.
