TPCAST is working on a wireless solution for the Oculus Rift
Today VR offers users with a unique experience, placing users in locations that can be literally out of this world and provide more immersive gaming experiences than are currently possible with standard displays.
One of the biggest problems with VR is that players are still tethered to the real world in a very literal sense, with the wires that connect PCs to high-end VR headsets restricting the moment of users and giving them a constant reminder that the virtual world that they are experiencing is not real.
TPCAST wants to move the VR world forward by creating wireless VR headset solutions, taking away the obstructive cables that exist on today's high-end VR headsets. The company has already created a wireless VR solution for the HTC Vive
, though now the company has revealed plans to bring this technology to Oculus' Rift headset.
This wireless VR solution enables 90 FPS VR gameplay with sub-2ms latencies, which is will almost unnoticeable for VR users when compared to a wired VR solution. Users of similar wireless solution for the HTC Vive have already showcased the ability to do backflips and other advanced movements in VR, which are simply impossible with tethered headsets.
