Total War: WARHAMMER - Battle of Black Fire Pass Walkthrough

Creative Assembly have just released their first ever In-game footage of Total War: Warhammer, showcasing amazing visuals, and many of the unit types that will be available within the game.

Unlike previous Total War titles, which all took place within a historical setting, Warhammer is the first Total War game to explore the world of fantasy, bringing many new unit types, races and even magic into the game.

The game is still a work in progress, so expect a lot to change before release, but right now things look promising.

Accompanied with developer commentary, this scripted battle demo is taken from work-in-progress code and depicts a desperate clash between the forces of the Empire led by Emperor Karl Franz and a Greenskin horde led by Orc Warboss Grimgor Ironhide.

The Battle of Black Fire Pass formed the basis for this year’s Total War: WARHAMMER E3 press demos, and offers a glimpse of the tremendous diversity of battlefield units, spells, war machines, monstrous creatures and fantasy environments that will appear in the final game. As a Quest Battle available specifically to Karl Franz, it represents one of many bespoke, optional encounters players will unlock as they progress through a campaign with their chosen Legendary Lord.

Being a huge Total War fan, this game has been on my watch list ever since it was announced, with the game no longer set in a historical setting Creative Assembly have a great opportunity to get creative and really innovate with this iteration of Total War.

With Flying units, magic and other non-humanoid enemies this game will certainly be an interesting game for any Total War fan. Even without much knowledge or prior experience with the Warhammer Universe, this game is one of my most highly anticipated releases or the next year.

That being said I do not advise that anyone Pre-order this game, as recent releases of the Total War has be very buggy and have had lots of performance problems at launch. Hopefully things will be different this time, but recent history has shown that Total War titles usually require a few patches to work properly.

The release date of this game is unknown at this time, but it is expected to be within the next year.

Have you met games workshop? there's no freakin way they'll ever officially allow it to be called that. They are saying anyone not in the companies can call it Total Warhammer though, so that's something.Quote
