Heavy PC users are typically fans of multi-monitor setups and high-resolution displays, both of which can be used to extend your workspace, enhance your productivity or offer gamers an extended field of view for enhanced immersion.

Last year Samsung released their 49-inch CHG90 dual-FHD 3840x1080 QLED (Quantum Dot) display, offering end users HDR support, a 144Hz maximum refresh rate, FreeSync 2 functionality and a 32:9 aspect ratio. This display was a multi-monitor setup in itself, with no pesky bezels that could get in the way of the action.

TFT Central has reported that Samsung has plans to invest further into ultra-wide display standards, with plans to release a 49-inch Dual-QHD equivalent of their CHG90 with a 5120x1440 resolution and a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz with a 1800R curvature. This display is said to use a VA panel and is set for production in September 2018, offering users a dual 1440p experience on a single monitor.

Alongside their 5120x1440 monster, Samsung is also said to be working on a 34-inch 144Hz 3440x1440 monitor, with production plans for Q3 2018, a display which seems like the ideal merger of high refresh rates, ultra-wide gaming and crisp screen resolutions.

I'd get one. Nearly bought the current version but sanity prevailed and I got an X34 instead. Mainly as it was about $800 AUD cheaper.

For work they're brilliant. Everyone here has at least two screens and the cable management and desktop space issues caused by generic stands are a real PITA. This solves that.

Of course they're not for everyone and they're certainly pretty niche as far as market goes due to the price but the most complained about part of the CHG90 was the resolution. Everyone wanted QHD. Well here it is.

Chuck one of these on a racing or flight sim rig and they'd be amazing. VR isn't for everyone so we still need something that's immersive and preferably without 3x DP and Power cables out of the back.Quote

Yeah for gaming I don't think it's all that useful and definitely few games if any will support it. It's hard enough to find games that work on UltraWide 3440x1440.Quote
