ReVive gains full SteamVR integration

ReVive has gained full SteamVR integration, allowing HTC Vive users to automatically place Oculus Home games onto your SteamVR dashboard and play "Oculus Exclusive" games.

LibreVR now lets the HTC Vive work with Oculus Store games automatically and allows the HTC Vive motion controllers emulate the Oculus Touch and Remote controls. This means that the HTC Vive can now play Oculus Touch compatible games before Oculus even launches their own motion controls.

Before now the LibreVR/Revive hack could only allow the HTC Vive to play a small number of Oculus Rift Compatible titles, like Lucky's tale, Oculus Dreamdeck and Defense Grid 2, but now it is able to be used with any game on the oculus Storefront, though full functionality is not guaranteed.

This new tool works be adding a compatibility layer that bridges the gap between the Oculus SDK and OpenVR, allowing Oculus Rift exclusive content to be played on the HTC Vive.

Right now not all games on the Oculus Storefront functions properly, but thankfully the developers have provided a compatibility list for all functioning and semi-functional Oculus Home applications. This compatibility list is available here.

New features

  • Added Revive dashboard integration.
  • Automatically add Oculus Home games to your Steam Library.
  • Added experimental OpenGL support.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed incorrect IPD information being shown in Technolus.
  • Fixed incorrect tracker orientation.

Newly installed games will give you an Entitlement check failed or similar error until you reboot the Oculus Runtime Service, quickest way to do that is opening a command prompt and entering these commands:

OVRServiceLauncher -stop
OVRServiceLauncher -start

This will also automatically be done by the installer when you're installing Revive.
