Right now not much is known about the project, but IBM has stated that they will be using their cloud computing technology and explore the idea of Cognitive computing. The prototype of the game is said to use motion controls in order to move in the game and beta tests will be carried out between March 18th and 20th in Tokyo Japan.
The Alpha test will be conducted by 208 alpha testers that will be recruited in the Tokyo Metropolitan area and will be held between March 18th and 20th.
In the trailer above we can see images of an Oculus Rift development kit, but the game is expected to make use of both the HTC Vive and the consumer version of the Oculus Rift with each devices respective motion controls. #

I want to remind that VR in SAO is not controlled by motion controls.

Yeah, but given the state of current technology, can we really do better that this right now?

I wanted to stress it out since I'm biased fan of SAO, sorry.Quote
This had better not be some half baked attempt tbh. Would many people off. I for one will be waiting for better VR tech before even trying VRQuote
